Kooky! What's that?
At Studio March a typical day could include anything from dissecting the shapes of clouds on a rainy day and debating whose version makes more sense, to individual, self-imposed isolation while crystalizing on brain waves. Actually, it would be more appropriate to say that at Studio March, there are no typical days. Just a collection of uncannily different ones strung together making up for our rather eclectic work week.
Today our day was peculiar, as usual. The topic of charged animated debate this time was the actual meaning of the word Kooky. The contenders of our mid-week, rainy day altercation happened to be equally divided into two groups. One group that knew what the term meant to a few who had no idea, and even thought that it was a derogatory adjective.
To dissolve the tension and the ensuing food fights, we decided to look up Urban Dictionary. Urban Dictionary says that Kooky means - When someone does something strange.
That’s the meaning we all agreed on by the end of long debate that included many real life examples, most of who were lodged in our very own office.
We also agreed that Kooky or strange need not necessarily mean a bad thing. We most definitely are a grouping of strange people whether designers, writers, coders or office help. We’d like to think of ourselves as a bunch of kooky people who use our kookiness in wondrous ways to make beautiful creations.And the debate continues.
